3/4/11

M/E DEAD LIFT

Day 4, 4 weeks out from NASA state meet

WARM UP

DEAD LIFT
worked up to
475/475 x 1
*assuming the big bumper plates are actually 55 lbs

LEG PRESS
4 x 10

PLANK
3 sets

The first 475 was a grinder. I changed my form up on the second one and got it. Basically I just have to grab air and then get down to the bar fast and pull. If I try to get to the bar first, then straighten my legs and get air and pull it doesn't work so hot.
Cam did a good job today and went up to 245 for a couple of doubles. Good stuff.

I hate dead lift.

M/E SQUAT (PR by default)

Day 2, 4 weeks out from NASA state meet

WARM UP

REVERSE STRONG BAND SQUAT (choked)
405/495/545/585 x 2

These felt pretty easy up to the 585. I didn't know what to expect, but just walking out the weight was nice. It's going to help at the meet, I know it. I think I accidentally forgot to buckle my belt on the last set... oops.
Cam is doing well. He's really learning the arch well and I was on his case about pushing his knees out. I'm just trying to keep one more thing on his mind at all times.

M/E BENCH PRESS (1 board PR single)

Day 1, 4 weeks out from '11 NASA state meet

WARM UP

1 BOARD PRESS
315/335/365/385 x 1 (PR by default)

PUSHDOWNS/FACEPULLS/CURLS
3 x 10

My elbow started bugging me after the 335, but a little massage helped work it out. Cam moved up the weight a little today and is still improving. Reverse strong band squats on Wednesday?
